Minutes On with David Goss
Pastor David Goss uses storytelling to provide insight and wisdom on some of today’s pressing topics.
Dave is a graduate and former student-athlete of Stanford University where he was a Two-Time First-Team All-American in volleyball. Dave was awarded the prestigious “Block S” award as the most outstanding junior athlete at Stanford in 1992. That same year Dave broke the NCAA single match record for most kills in a match with 55 against UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. Dave went on to play professionally in Brazil and had a stint with the US Men’s National Team in 1995.
After several years of teaching and coaching sports in the Los Angeles area, Dave chose to enter the ministry. He enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary and obtained his Master’s degree.
Dave and hiswife Tracey went on to launch Light and Life Isla Vista church, where Dave still serves as lead pastor. Since the pandemic, LLIV meets in Isla Vista’s People’s Park, making participation easier for visitors and the homeless community.
Every Sunday service is accompanied by a meal share with the community. LLIV has served tens of thousands of free meals and built countless friendships, good will, and trust in the community.
Dave is the proud father of Noah, Caleb, and Micah.
Dave is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in Recovery Ministry from Fuller Seminary. Dave also serves on the Asbury Alumni Association Council.
